8 May, 2008 - 09:41 — MelanieIssue 8 had its debut the FEM08 feminist conference in Sheffield, and was received well.
If you're itching to get your hands on a copy it's available from the Ricochet!Ricochet! distro (london), Lola & The Cartwheels distro (Sheffield), the Manifesta distro (leeds), and at all Manifesta events.
Issue 8 features great articles and artwork, on amongst other topics, the million women rise march; being a trans ally; components of a drumkit; unemployment; the commonplace leeds; greenham common; renminbi interview; diy community; plus a huge big section on finding your independence.
It kickx!
Onwards and upwards to RAYW#9...
For the next issue we're looking for thoughts, experiences, ideas, reflections, notions, and all else to do with RECOVERY. As always with the zine's "theme", please interpret it however you wish, and repond in which ever (print) medium you desire. The theme is only as good as we make it.
Alongside the space devoted to the theme of recovery, the rest of the issue's pages are up for grabs to fill however we wish. Art, rants, reviews, activisms, skills sharing, celebrations, interviews, personal, encouragement, historical, fact, fiction, truth, dare, whatever, however.
Send your contributions to reassessyrweapons@manifesta.co.uk by the beginning of August (or the sooner the better)
If you want to post your A5 pages, email me and I'll send you the mailing address.
